Every woman's life is a unique collage of stresses and joys
that leaves its mark on her body. Therapeutic massage supports health and well-being by caring for the musculoskeletal system,
addressing discomfort caused by muscle imbalances and postural problems, and improving tissue health by increasing circulation.
The purpose of Gravida Massage is to provide women in the Syracuse, New York, area with therapeutic
massage in the comfort of their own homes. For women with busy professional and personal lives, this convenience is not
a luxury--it is a necessity.

A Focus on Massage for Expectant & New Mothers
"Gravida" is the medical term for a pregnant woman.
The changes a woman undergoes during the months leading
up to the birth of a child, and during the first year of motherhood, are dramatic. For many women, they can result
in low back pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, digestive problems, and swelling in the feet and hands.
Laura Hannett, LMT, has had specialized training in providing
safe, appropriate massage treatment for expectant mothers, so that they are better able to cope with the discomforts of pregnancy--and can
focus more on the joys of this rich and wonderful experience.
The first year of a new baby's life is one of many delights and challenges, as a woman's
body recovers from pregnancy and childbirth, and as she adapts to her new role as a mother. Having
access to therapeutic massage in her own home is particularly important at this time, because she might be reluctant
or unable to leave her newborn to seek therapeutic massage elsewhere.
