A native of Dewitt, NY, Laura Hannett, LMT, has a bachelor's degree
from Hamilton College and a master's in English Literature from the College of William and Mary. After pursuing a career in
magazines (she was a copy editor at Town & Country, Vogue and Victoria), she decided to make
a career change, and attended the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Syracuse. She was the valedictorian of her class,
and earned her New York State license in 2003. She practiced massage in Manlius until the birth of her first child (who
appears in the photos on this site) in 2007. Inspired by her own experience with pregnancy, she sought further training in
working with expectant mothers. She is certified in MotherMassage® and is a member of the American
Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Through Gravida Massage, she offers outcall massage to women exclusively, with a specialization
in working with pregnant and postpartum clients. She provides massage therapy to a broad range of clients in her
work at the Massage Therapy Wellness Center (5900 North Burdick Street, East Syracuse; call 447-6907).
